Smoke & Burn Blind Tasting

The Smoke:

At this event the cigars are central.

Thanks to drinks’ industry aficionado Sasa – who you’ll meet on the night – a conversation was started about whether rum or whisky works best with a cigar. The idea for September’s tasting was born.

Cigars change the flavours of drinks completely. At this event you’ll be lead through an appreciation of changing flavours, as well as a friendly challenge to identify the drams: Is it whisky, or is it rum?

Your cigar will be a truly special one: Cigar Aficiando’s Cigar Of The Year 2014!!! I don’t usually repeat anything at a tasting, but this cigar is so delicious I’ve made it the exception to the rule… but only for the first 15 people.

If you don’t book your seats in time, don’t worry, I’ll have another great cigar for you.

The Burn – Rum vs Whisky

Rum and Whisky are perceived as wildly differently, whether it’s the season to drink them in, how to drink them or how much burn they bring. Yet put them side by side at a blind tasting, add a cigar in the mix, and barely anyone can tell the difference! Will you be the exception?

I’ll be carefully selecting 5 drams for you to enjoy – both whiskies and rums – that are a combination of rare, collectable and award winning bottles. One of them isn’t even available in the UK at the moment.

I’m not going to make it easy for you and the cigar will change the flavours of your drinks. This is going to be a blind tasting extravaganza! Prepare to be surprised.

Food:

We’re keeping it simple – 3 different types of pizza from World Famous Gordos. Two meat based pizzas and one veggie. A gluten free base is available. (State your preference on the checkout page).
